In September 2007, MAPEAL had the honor of being appointed to host the 13th Congress of FIEALC (Federacion Internacional de Estudios sobre America Latina y el Caribe) in Macau receiving about 400 participants and keynote speakers from 34 countries and regions in South America, Central America, North America, Asia, Europe and Australasia. It’s the first time in the Macau’s history ever congregating such a good number of experts and scholars in the field of Latin American Studies in this tiny oriental city for academic and cultural exchange.
